Our Story

Chefs Travis and Anna have been cooking, traveling and creating together for several years. After spending time living in New Orleans and working seasonally in California, running a restaurant in the Sierra Nevada mountains, Travis and Anna have settled in Portland to raise their family and enjoy access to all of the amazing ingredients that this beautiful part of the country has to offer.



Anna started her career in the restaurant industry over 20 years ago in her home state of New Jersey. Her talents have provided her with a chance to travel, work and train with many great chefs from all over the globe. Anna got her start in professional kitchens as a  Pastry Chef and Baker, she has since worked her way thru every position of a kitchen, spent 8 seasons cooking in remote areas of Alaska and eventually  running a busy kitchen in the French Quarter of New Orleans.
Travis started his career in Southern Vermont at a small French restaurant near Stratton Mountain. His Travels have led him to work with an eclectic mix of Chefs.  Travis has always had a passion for traditional old world foods and the “scratch made” process. Most recently, Travis has developed a special interest in authentic Italian cuisine and has been working with homemade pastas, cheeses and cured meats.
The menu at Abilene has been created to  highlight some of Travis and Anna’s favorite recipes that have been developed over the years as well as some new dishes inspired by local ingredients and flavors. They hope to share their love of scratch made, innovative home cooking with their new Portland neighbors.
